Blackwood Travelled to Troedyrhiw in the 2nd round of the curruthers. We were told that they were of the latest mold of teams who, seek success, that of noisy, high fiving, slightly agressive manner.
This is something which is designed to both intimidate the opposition as well as raise the teams own game. All the successful teams have this trait and i'm afraid it is sink or swim if you want to compete with them.
Of course Blackwood have some seasoned players who have seen it all before, we compete, and, on occasion have had our success - Only a late burst from Troedyrhiw overcame us and a league win against Beaufort proves that the "silent assassin" must be respected.
Some members called it a lack of etiquette and a showing of a lack of respect. Shouting the shots gained across the rinks was knew to me and usually frowned upon by the traditionalists.
So Blackwood.....time to start shouting ??, High fiving ?? Hurry Hurry to encourage the woods that extra foot (really designed just to show your mates on the other rinks that you are bowling a good wood) ??
Naaaaa lets just let the bowls do the talking hey ??
